Tear Towers (installation views)
This sculpture series personifies my visceral response to the unfolding Anthropocene Epoch.
Body and mind respond to the external over-processed, hyper-engineered human experience.
The sculptures are constructed from moulded and hand-built facets.

I developed a range of bespoke low-fire glazes, which were applied in layers over multiple firings.

Bourgeois Tears (2024)
A homage to the French-American artist and queen of embedded childhood trauma, Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010).
KGM ceramic, low-fire teal glaze with sintered glaze grains, sheep’s wool

Fleshy Tears, Contorted Brain (2024)
A towering confection suggests over-processed and delicious contemporary life, but look closer…
KGM ceramic, low fire glaze with Mason stain. Mid-fire lava glaze, pink varnish.

Wise Woman Lament (2024)
A cloak of tears with rivulets of ‘the mother’ mason stain,
KGM ceramic, copper slip, black slip, black mason stain in cider vinegar, mid-temp transparent glaze. Mayco SFX glaze.
